Weekend Outlook

Friday (Nov. 9)

The Fairmont State University Falcon Marching Band will be hosting its annual Stadium Review Concert in Colebank Hall on the main campus of the university on Friday evening. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will feature selection from the band’s 2018 halftime show (West Side Story), pregame show and stands music repertoire. The concert is free and open to the public. 

The West Virginia Mountaineers Men’s Basketball team will host the Buffalo Bulls on Friday evening for their season opener on Friday evening. The game will tip-off at 9:00 p.m at the WVU Coliseum. For more information on the West Virginia Mountaineers Men’s Basketball team, click here.

Saturday (Nov. 10)

Following their big win at Texas last weekend, the West Virginia Mountaineers Football team will take on TCU at Milan Puskar Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The game will kick off at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, and gates will open at 10:30 a.m. For more information on this week’s match-up and everything else on Mountaineer Football, click here.

West Virginia Wesleyan College and the West Virginia Science Public Outreach Team (WV SPOT) will be sponsoring a ‘Universe in the Park’ event at Stonewall Resort on Saturday at 6 p.m. There will be an astronomy presentation about the sun, a planet walk and telescope observing. This event is free and open to the public. 

The Grafton Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Grafton on Saturday morning. The parade is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Grafton National Cemetery following the parade.

The Shinnston Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Shinnston on Saturday morning. The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. Attendees can enjoy a free hot dog meal at noon, at American Legion Post 31. 

The 2nd Annual Fall Harvest Festival will be held at Tygart Lake State Park in Grafton on Saturday. The festival will begin at 10:00 a.m. and feature vendors, baked goods, crafts, pageantry and much more. 

The Connector Arts & Crafts Fair will be held on Saturday from 12 – 6 p.m. at the West Virginia National Guard Armory. This arts and crafts show will feature items for sale ideal for Christmas shopping. Additional information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

The Weston Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Weston on Saturday Morning. Line-up for the parade will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the parade will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday (Nov. 11)

The Morgantown Mall Night of Giving wil be held from 6 – 9 p.m. on Saturday. By making a $5 donation to a participating nonprofit organization, attendees will be entitled to receive a sweepstakes entry form that will give them access to exclusive discounts at stores in the mall, and enters them for prize drawings. There will also be family-oriented entertainment throughout the mall.

The West Virginia Mountaineers Women’s Basketball Team will play NJIT on Sunday at the WVU Coliseum. The game is set for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
